One of the most rewarding parts of being an Elgin family photographer is getting to see families grow through the years. I first met Craig and Diana when I photographed their beautiful wedding at Bloomingdale Golf Club, and it’s been such a joy to continue documenting their story, especially now with their sweet daughter, Gabriela.

Part One: Bridge Moments in Pink
We began on the bridge at the entrance of Walton Island, where the family wore coordinating pink tones. Gabriela looked adorable in her pink dress, holding her neat little umbrella with matching pink patterns. Craig’s pink shirt and Diana’s elegant long dress with pink accents tied everything together beautifully. Despite the earlier rain, the bridge glistened slightly, adding a soft glow to every photo and making the session feel cozy and intimate.

Part Two: Exploring the Island
For the second part of the shoot, Gabriela changed into a cute black dress and was ready for adventure! We wandered through the park, watching ducks and squirrels, and even stopped by to visit Mr. Otto’s statue, where Gabriela offered him a flower—such a sweet, spontaneous moment that captured her playful spirit perfectly.
We wrapped up the session near the graffiti walls by the Hemmens Auditorium, where Gabriela hopped on her scooter for some fun, energetic photos. Her laughter and curiosity made every shot full of personality and life.

A Special Family Tradition
Photographing this family year after year has been such a privilege. From a wedding at Bloomingdale Golf Club to family portraits filled with color, laughter, and love—it’s amazing to see how their story continues to unfold.
If you’re looking for fall family photos in the NW suburbs or a relaxed Elgin family photographer who loves capturing candid, heartfelt moments, I’d love to help you create your own beautiful memories.
