Ema’s Fall Senior Photos at Buffalo Park Forest Preserve in Algonquin, IL
Meet Ema, a Huntley High School senior who knew exactly what she wanted for her senior photos: nature, and lots of it.

Where we shot Ema’s senior photos in Algonquin
Ema’s senior photos were taken at Buffalo Park Forest Preserve in Algonquin, Illinois, along the Fox River. We spent the evening of September 27 there, and the location gave us everything she asked for: a quiet stretch of river with fallen branches and a big old tree, a split-rail fence beside a park path, and a meadow of wildflowers and tall grass in soft late-afternoon light.

We began with a casual, easy look that suited the river and the fence. Simple outfits work well in nature settings because they let the background do the work.

For the second half of the session Ema changed into a pink top and a flowing white skirt. As the light got lower and warmer, we moved into the meadow for movement shots, a bouquet of dried flowers, and a few quiet moments in the grass.
