Welcoming Baby #3 with the Whole Family
We’ve had the joy of photographing Maritza and her growing family through each chapter of their beautiful journey—and this spring was no exception. From a cozy farm maternity session for baby #1 to a magical winter maternity shoot in Algonquin for baby #2, it has been an honor to capture these milestones.
And now, as they prepare to welcome baby #3, we took a more relaxed and personal approach. We decided on a spring maternity session in Crystal Lake.
This time around, we brought it back home—literally. The shoot took place in a charming backyard setting. It was filled with budding trees, fresh spring air, and the kind of light that only springtime brings.
One of our favorite moments was Maritza hanging sweet little baby clothes on a clothesline. It was a gentle, symbolic moment that perfectly reflects the anticipation and love this family shares.
As always, the rest of the family joined in. Martin, the proud dad, and their two little ones added so much heart to the session.
At one point, a few turtles appeared by the lake. The parents joyfully shouted, ‘Tortuga!’—a spontaneous moment that added even more charm to the session.
We captured a mix of posed portraits and lifestyle shots. We let the kids play, laugh, and interact naturally with their mom and dad. The result? A collection of images that tell a story. Not just of a maternity session, but of a growing, connected family enjoying a season of life and love.
